See With His Eyes. Be the Surprise.
“I can feel your love
Flowing out to me
Each day and night
I can see clearly now
I see your eyes in the starry skies
I can feel your life flowing out to me
With each breath I take
I can see clearly now
Your Spirit has shown me the perfect way” ~Newsboys
Overview
I’ve always loved writing since the day I learned how. I (Kyle) especially loved recording things–thoughts, feelings, weekly events, stories, schedules–you name it. Ever since blogging started its rise in popularity, I wanted to participate in it. But I couldn’t commit to it, because I didn’t have confidence and had no platform on which to speak from. Then “SHOUT IT” came onto the scene in April of 2009 and by November of 2009, this website, www.shoutitforlife.com,was launched. I wanted to write blogs that related to current topics, apologetics, Christian living, and the Christian worldview. At the same time I also wanted to write in the first person point of view. In other words, how I personally relate to the topics that are being discussed and my own personal view of how I see the world through the lens of Christianity. Thus the ministry, Kyle’s Kaleidoscope, was born.
Why the Title: Kaleidoscope?
When I was younger, I used to look through a kaleidoscope at my grandparents house with awe and wonder. The patterns, shapes, and colors shifted wherever I turned; it seemed like I never saw the same pattern twice. In a local park nearby where I live, a playground is most appropriately called, Kaleidoscope, due to its many different assortment of slides, bridges, pathways, and swings that make up its features. So when I began to think of ways to express how I see the world the word, kaleidoscope, jumped out at me. My relationship with Christ has changed how I view the world and as C. S. Lewis stated: “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” When I became a Christian I began to see the world through God’s eyes and everything became clearer. Things began to make sense, the pieces of the puzzle started to fit, and a new sense of purpose was instilled in me. The Christian life is like looking into a kaleidoscope. When you look into the light, everything becomes clearer with vast color and life that only God could provide! It is truly a sight to behold!
The Slogan: “See With His Eyes. Be The Surprise.”
The central theme of SHOUT IT Ministries is simple, yet can be often overlooked: know what you believe, apply it, and most importantly become it. Application is the missing ingredient that is sorely missing in the church today. Before you can apply the truth, though, you must change your viewpoint. From yours, to God’s. When we were yet sinners, we saw the world from our own point of view–a self-centered, prideful view from the perspective of a mirror. Then Christ came into our lives and our eyes were open to a hurting, dying, and lost world. We come to the conclusion that there is more to this world than just ourselves. From this, we came to crave the truth of His Word and began to understand what God wants from us. Once we confirm these truths, we carry them out into our everyday lives. If these truths are lived out shown for all to see, the world can’t help but be amazed. You’ll be able separate yourself from the pack, yet not out for self-promotion but to give God all the glory. They’ll want what you have. This is what the Christian faith is all about. It is our calling we all should set out to do each and every day of our lives: “See with His Eyes. Be the Surprise!”
Topics to Be Discussed
I’m going to try and write about the topics I’m currently covering in my blogs and how they relate to my personal life. But this isn’t always going to be the case. If I feel inspired to write on something that I’ve recently experienced, a topic I’m passionate about, or how I view a certain issue I will do so. Some blogs will be much more personal than others depending on what I’m discussing. Basically, I’m open to just about any topic that relates to the Christian worldview.
Who Will Be Writing the Content?
This ministry will be written from Kyle’s point of view (the creator/founder of SHOUT IT Ministries).
How Often Will I Write Blogs?
There will be no set dates or time in which I write blogs for Kaleidoscope. I want to correlate to you what God has laid on my heart and not out of obligation to met a deadline. This being said, I’ll average one entry a month; or about 12 blogs a year.
How Long Will the Blogs Be?
There is no set length that I’m striving for. Some blogs will be much shorter than others. The length will vary greatly from one blog to the next. I view the quality as much more important than the quantity. But with all that being said, expect about 8-12 paragraphs on average.
Do I Have any Input in this Ministry?
Unlike the many other ministries, you wouldn’t be able to interact with this ministry with the exception of leaving comments and feedback on how you feel about what I’ve written in the individual posts. You can contact me personally through the Contact Us Page as well.
Final Thoughts
In conclusion, it is my vision to help you see how you can apply Biblical truths into your daily life through this ministry. The five main purposes of this ministry are as follows:
- Show how life is viewed from the Christian worldview
- Help you apply Biblical truths into your life
- Encourage you when you’re facing difficult situations and circumstances
- Provide advice on current issues you may be faced with
- Give you a glimpse of how life was meant to be lived
