Day and Night Theatrical Short

Description: This is the animation short that ran before the movie in the theaters. In my opinion this is the best short Pixar has ever done. It’s creative, visually simple, yet complex, and carries a very powerful message too. If you haven’t already seen this–make sure to watch it. Even if you’re seen it before, it’s certainly worth watching over and over again.

Running Length: 1 hour 42 minutes 

Description: This is where the producers, Darla Anderson and Lee Unkrich give their thoughts on what was involved in making Toy Story 3. If you’re a big fan of Toy Story and what to know the full background story of how the this film was made—this is a must see. Very in-depth, insightful, and informative! 

Buzz Lightyear Mission Logs: The Science of Adventure 

Running Length: 4:30 

Description:  The third and final chapter in the Mission Logs given by Buzz Lightyear this is once again very educative and interesting. Worth watching once. 

Paths to Pixar: Editorial 

Running Length: 4:38 

Description: Ever wonder how a movie is edited and condensed into the final version? This is a very brief overview of what goes into the editorial process of a movie as told by the Pixar staff. Worth your time. 

Studio Stories: Where’s Gordon? 

Running Length: 2:16 

Description: A short animation of one of the Pixar staff members, Andrew Gordon. Very neat and interesting story and shows how unique the culture of Pixar really is. A must see. 

Studio Stories: Cereal Bar 

Running Length: 1:36 

Description: A very short animation on the role cereal plays into the Pixar culture. Worth your time, watch once. 

Studio Stories: Clean Start 

Running Length: 3:05 

Description: The third and final studio story is another very interesting story about the creative and goofy people of Pixar. Like the other two, it’s worth watching once. 

Toys! 

Running Length: 6:39 

Description: A short documentary on all the toys that were made for Toy Story 3. It’s short enough in time length and not too technical for casual fans to enjoy. 

The Gang’s All Here 

Running Length: 10:46 

Description: Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and the rest of the gang are interviewed and in this short documentary talk about their reunion since the last film. The new voices of Toy Story 3 are also featured. One of the best special features for Toy Story 3. A must see. 

A Toy’s Eye View: Creating a Whole New Land

Running Length: 5:19 

Description: This is a cool behind the scenes look at the rides and attractions that were inspired from Toy Story. If you’re an amusement part junkie or love Walt Disney World/Land this feature is worth your time. 

Learn to take Movie on the Go 

Simply an advertisement about Digital copies of Disney Movies. Not worth watching.  

Toy Story 3 Blu-ray Feature Film (2010) 

The Blu-ray movie is stunningly beautiful and easily the most colorful and richly retailed of all the Pixar films to date.  The sound is featured in 5.1 surround sound and is flawless in delivering the full movie theater experience. It should go without saying that is movie is worth watching over and over again and will be treasured for generations to come!

Description: A very heartwarming documentary of how the last scene was made when Andy has to part with his toys and Woody. A strong special feature on this DVD and certainly worth your time. 

Accidental Toymakers 

Running Length: 3:56 

Description: A short feature about how Pixar actually created toys for toy companies when they made the Toy Story films. Very insightful and short–worth the time.

Epilogue

Description: This is the very end of Toy Story 3 with the credits taken out. Watch it once if you want a clearer view of the closing sequence of the film. If not–skip.

Toy Story Trivia Dash

Description: The third and final game of the trilogy is a trivia based game about the three films. You’ll need a partner for this one. You are tested on your knowledge of the films. Some questions are very easy and others are fairly difficult. Fun and challenging and there are many questions asked before there are any repeats. All in all–the best of the three games and worth investing some time in.

Description: Same commentary as the DVD version, only with behind the scenes photos/sketches featured in the corners of the scene you are viewing. Watch this one after the DVD version if possible—it gives a much better visual representation of how the movie was made. 

Beyond the Toy Box: The Alternative Commentary 

Running Length: 1 hour 42 minutes 

Description: Yet another commentary this time given by the Pixar artists and other crew members who helped make the film. If you absolutely love the film or want to know more on how a Pixar movie is made–this is a must see. If not–watch the Cine-Explore commentary instead. 

Roundin’ Up A Western Opening 

Running Length: 5:42 

Description: A short documentary on the opening sequence of Toy Story 3.  Worth your time. 

Bonnie’s Playtime: A Story Roundtable 

Running Length: 6:26 

Description: A roundtable discussion on the sequence where we meet Bonnie for the first time. Although this is not one of the stronger features of the DVD, it is an interesting take on what went into the character of Bonnie. 

Beginnings: Setting a Story in Motion 

Running Length: A short and very interesting look at how a good story is written and what goes into the process. Very insightful on the overall process of writing a script or screenplay–worth your time. 

Life of a Shot 

Running Length: 6:57 

Description: A docemnatry on all the different aspects that go into the making of one spot. If you love animation and what to learn more on how it’s done–watch. If not–it probably wouldn’t hold your interest. 

Making of Day and Night 

Running Length: 2:00 

Description: A very short documentary on the making of the Day and Night animation. Worth seeing once to get an overview of the work it took to make this animation.

Description: A must-see feature! Ken gives a few brief tips on dating–very funny and has replay value. 

Lots-o-Huggin Bear Commercial 

Running Length: 2:30 

Description: The next three features all tie together and are about a Lots-o-Huggin Bear Commercial and show the original version, the Japanese version, and the behind the scenes making of the commercial. Short enough that you can watch once through, but has no replay value whatsoever.

Description: Short clips that promote the film. Watch once and move on. 

“Dancing with the Stars” At Pixar

Description: A short feature on how a few members of the Dancing with the Stars helped Pixar with the Salsa dancing in Toy Story 3. Interesting and worth your time.

Description: All the trailers that helped promote the film, including a few Japanese ones (which are certainly interesting to watch). Watch only if you’re really determined to see every single feature on this DVD!

**Easter Eggs** Alas, there are no Easter Eggs to be found on any of the DVDs for Toy Story 3. All in all, the special features are incredible and hopefully with anniversary and future special editions–easter eggs and more wonderful content will be added!!
